3 Tips For Staying Cool When Watching A Golf Tournament

Going to a golf tournament can be a lot of fun, but it can get pretty hot out on the course. Luckily, following a few tips before you go and while you are there will help you stay nice and cool so that you can enjoy the tournament instead of being miserable in the heat.

1. Wear Lightweight Fabrics

First of all, make sure that you wear lightweight fabrics. This will allow you to dress appropriately while still staying nice and cool. Golfing-style shirts are actually great for wearing on the golf course for a reason -- they typically look nice but are nice and cool because of the fabrics that are used to make them. Check out a pro shop to look for shirts, shorts or pants and other clothing to wear to the tournament.

2. Shield Your Face

Keeping your face shielded from the sun will help keep you cool. Plus, it can help protect your face from sunburn. A baseball-style cap is a great choice, but just make sure that it is well-fitting. You'll want to skip the crazy colors and opt for something in a neutral shade -- you can pick up a nice hat from the pro shop. If you don't like wearing baseball-style caps, another option is a visor -- if you don't like the feeling of wearing something on top of your head, it will do the trick but will be more comfortable for you. Although it might not help keep you cool, wearing a pair of sunglasses will also help keep you comfortable because it will shield your eyes from the sun.

3. Drink Plenty of Water

It's important to drink plenty of water while you're on the course. It'll help keep you nice and cool, and it will help prevent you from getting dehydrated throughout the long day. Consider bringing along a large insulated water bottle -- you should be able to refill it while you're on the course, and it will help keep your water nice and cold. Bringing your own large bottle of water is a better choice than sipping out of the tiny disposable cups that are often offered on the course, but call ahead and make sure that you are allowed to bring it with you first, since the rules do vary based on the course and the tournament.

As you can see, there are a few things that you can do to ensure that you stay cool while you're on the golf course. Follow these tips, and you're sure to feel great and have a good time. If you're interested in golf, consider looking into 2016 Masters packages.
